An angry elephant startled a herd of giraffes as they tried to share its water hole in Botswana.
The giraffes were trying to cool off in the water but were frightened by the elephant swooping up behind them.
Impressive scenes were captured by wildlife photographer Janet Kleyn, 52, at Mashatu Game Reserve.
Janet said: ‘As soon as the elephants passed through the trees and caught the underwater giraffes, this baby elephant started to blow the trumpet and run towards them.
‘In general, elephants do not like other animals sharing their space in a water hole and will often drive them away.
‘In particular, the kids love to chase after other animals. It’s hardly serious, but sometimes one animal can get hurt – In this case, all the giraffes just run away.’
